Conceptual site has Jackson Pollock’s name, not his style

A tip of the hat to author Daniel Pink, whose blog links to JacksonPollock.org — a make-your-own artwork Web site.

The Web site is conceptual art by Miltos Manetas. He has thought up the artwork, and each Web visitor creates it anew for him — much like the pattern of conceptual innovator Andy Warhol.

Pollock, though, was an experimental innovator, peaking quite late in his career. And the art you can create on JacksonPollock.org looks only very superficially like an actual Pollock painting.
